
Jake Parnell
West Sacramento, California
Jake Parnell was born and raised on a Registered Angus Cattle and Clydesdale Horse Ranch in Auburn, California. Growing up Jake showed Angus Cattle and participated very actively in the FFA.
Jake attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Ca. majoring in Agriculture Business Policy. During college, Jake was a member of the 2001 Cal Poly Livestock Judging and served as the 2002 Cal Poly Student Body President.
Following Graduation Jake accepted an Appointment from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and returned to Northern California. Jake served as a Legislative Coordinator in Schwarzenegger’s Legislative Office, working on issues ranging from Horse Racing to Workers’ Compensation.
Following his two years with Governor Schwarzenegger, Jake accepted consulting job with Cargill Animal Nutrition. Travelling Northern, California and Western Nevada, Jake worked with Farm Store Owners and Ranchers mainly focusing on Cattle and Horse nutrition.
In January 2007, Cattlemen’s Livestock Market in Galt, California approached Jake to serve as their manager and lead auctioneer. Being a third-generation auctioneer, Jake saw this as a perfect opportunity for himself and Parnell Dickinson, Inc.
Currently, Jake works with Cattlemen throughout the west marketing their cattle though Cattlemen’s Livestock Market, Superior Livestock’s video auctions and through special sales managed by Parnell Dickinson. Jake was married to wife Molly in 2006 and is one of three founding partners in Parnell Dickinson.
